Horizon Europe automated open science compliance checks in EU Open Research Repository

Today, we've launched automated Horizon Europe open science compliance checks for the EU Open Research Repository.

These automated checks assist both uploaders and curators in adhering to the mandatory and recommended open science requirements outlined in each project's Horizon Europe grant agreement. For example, uploaders must provide funding details and specify licensing terms, with certain licenses recommended for journal articles and others for research data. The EU Open Research Repository now verifies all these requirements automatically.

For uploaders, the compliance checks are integrated directly into the upload form and will flag errors—such as missing grant or award information from the European Commission:

Likewise, curators of EU project communities can now rely on these automated checks to quickly identify any potential issues with a record:

Overall, these new automated checks help reduce the compliance burden by seamlessly integrating the process into the repository interface.

New affiliations: European Directory of Marine Organisations (EDMO)

We’ve expanded our database of affiliations available for auto-completion in the upload form to now include organisations from the European Directory of Marine Organisations (EDMO). This addition complements the existing affiliations sourced from the Research Organizations Registry (ROR). The integration was done in collaboration with iMagine project

You can see a live example of the new affiliations from EDMO on e.g. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14017143
